Wicked Wednesdays - 'First Day Photo's'

So the past week or two lots of parents will have been posting their childrens first day at school photo's, capturing a big milestone for their child and an emotional moment for themselves, with their little one's looking all smart and delightful in their brand new uniforms.....


My wonderful little girl, who only turned 4 at the end of July, started school last Thursday. Our first day photo's didn't quite go to plan......

I'd asked her dad to come for her first day as I felt she needed the support as she had been really upset at any mention of starting school. She was very excited to have him here so was jumping about the room and was in no mood for standing still for photo's even though she does love to pose.

Above is the closest I got to a 'proper' first day photo. Scrunched up face and taken  with not the best background as was the only time I got her to stop for a minute.

Wicked Wednesdays - "Photo girls"

A couple of weeks ago we went on yet another visit to lovely Bramhall Park. We went with G's auntie and her younger two cousins. My sister got some nice autumnal photo's of the E and G amongst all the yellow, orange and red leaves ....eventually.



She asked them to come and have a photo on the tree stump......

Not sure who they thought was going to take their photo from over there.....

A few photo's later they figured it out.....

Wicked Wednesdays - Halloween

I've not managed to get on the blog much with it being half term but I thought I'd pop on to do a Halloween Wicked Wednesdays.



Here is my daughter 3 years ago on her first Halloween.

So scary she scared herself!

Ok maybe not. She just wasn't in a very happy mood that night.  A novelty singing Halloween dog did the trick of cheering her up though.
This photo makes me come across as a cruel mummy forcing my baby into a costume she was not happy with, complete with mess in the background. Bloody awful. Definitely a Wicked Wednesdays contender.

Wicked Wednesdays - Getting dressed in the dark

One day I will get this link up post done first thing rather than when it's hurtling towards the end of the day!



So G dressed herself the other night when getting ready for bed....

.....nice mismatched outfit plus cardigan on upside down......

....and yes it would have still been the same outcome if she'd not been getting dressed in the dark.

She put her knickers on wrong at nursery yesterday after having an accident. She put her whole body through one of the leg holes and they were really digging into her when I picked her up!
 Besides the painful looking knickers episode, these are the moments I love. She does/has done and says/has said so many funny things as a toddler/preschooler. I will miss them when she's all grown up. It's really going to too fast....she'll be dressing herself like this for school next year having only turning 4 just before she starts.

Wicked Wednesdays Tink's in Trouble

Again another one from Archives for this week's Wicked Wednesday. There are so many great one's and not so many recent ones so why not? There are plenty of moments but not surprisingly I didn't take a snapshot when Grace was having a massive tantrum in the supermarket the other day, I actually almost cried.

Here one of my best friends had come to visit and brought her fancy camera with her to take some lovely photo's. Here are the results after mummy hadn't realised G had a dirty face ....a grubby, angry looking baby who looks like she's about to snap Tink's head off.

When they get hold of your make up/make up bag.....

....on this occassion she was a very poorly bunny so I let her carry on as it was making her happy. Othertimes I've not been so impressed.

How is it October already? I don't think I can remember such a warm sunny Autumn......it's lovely if a little confusing but I hate being cold so I'm not complaining!

Covering herself in pen has always been an activity G favoured. The worst time was when she stood in front of the mirror and covered her whole face not long before we had to leave for nursery.....

Wicked Wednesdays - Little Angel

When I was about  6 -7 months pregnant I remember one of my work colleagues telling me his two year old had emptied out one of the kitchen drawers the previous day, pans, colanders, everything and climbed inside!

I remember thinking my baby wouldn't do that.


About eighteen months later......

Wicked Wednesdays - Messy times ahead

I did my first Wicked Wednesday post last week. It was a recent picture from our trip to the Lowry earlier this month but I have quite a few gems from when she was a baby/toddler so I'll be putting them to good use in the next few weeks!

One of the first warning signs she was going to be a messy one........as soon as she could move she would find new and exciting ways to give mummy more jobs to do.
